(LOL) I dont mean to sound depressed and I'm not. After exams the days have become busier than ever, it always seems so without fail. ODAC stuff more or less now coming to an end, so I'm left with my hall stuff. Good good.

Leaving for church camp on da 5th, returning on da 8th. Then, leaving for vietnam on da 12th and returning on da 25th. Guess this will be my longest holiday in a while. When year 2 comes, I should be rushing to complete more modules or working and not taking long hols anymore. And with this super duper nice and longgg get away, my first year in NTU officially ends (that is if I dont flunk any of my yr 1 mod). And when year 3 comes, hopefully I will be applying and going for an exchange or an immersion programme in the States, France or Switzerland. And that means to save $$$.

And I should be telling myself I'm not gonna step into a club again. Didnt like it at all, not a teeny weeny bit. The smoked clothes I got is enough for a night's headache. And with some really crazy people unleashed, I'd not better corrupt my pretty decent life for now. In all, nothing comes out of it so why should I put myself through it? No more.

The Mr. Singapore paegant is pretty interesting. I think I prefer Ms. Singapore anytime. LOL. There are so many unbelievable guys in that contest, you'd think it's pretty much a ridiculous reality show. And to those who's categorized by me in the unbelievable section, they'd better brush up their English language and oral. I was really hungry this morn but my dearest xiao mei brought me nasi lemak breakfast all the way from clementi, which she left outside my room while I was still snoring. tried to study for a while on the world bank and the IMF but after 2 hours I felt like sleeping AGAIN. (SP claims cows are sleepy animals)

lazed around in the room coz roomie not in and I was bored. and my room is seriously so messy i dun have space to lie on my own bed. luckily that particular someone cured me of my boredom by inviting me to lunchie and then to sADM to return his camera. (sADM= sch of Art, Design and Media) So I went to the temporary block of sADM (coz their sch building not yet completed) for the 1st time. wOw, there were really nice and creative art pieces and I'm amazed! nice nice nice.

after the nice time I had it was time to mug again. Denis was so piggy he was sleeping when I called him. So I ended up @ the Quad cafe alone doing some studying while waiting for him to bring me into his SBS resource room (Sch of Bio Sci). So here I am until now typing this boring entry while trying to read up on the WTO (world trade organization) and all the trade stuff.

I want the exams to end now.

Summer hols backpacking Vietnam. climbing Fansipan :))

Vietnam:
*wettest from June to August (South)
*hot summers from May to October (North)
*Hanoi pop. 3.5 million
*Vietnamese (Kinh) is the official lang.
*Mandarin and Eng. also widely spoken :)
*Communist since 1975
*3/4 of the country is mountainous and hilly (!!!)
*highest peak (of indo-china) is Mt. He never fails.

Without Him, I wouldn't be where I am today. I need to thank Him, thank Him for everything that He has given me. I remember when I was very young, I did something really wrong. I was so upset over it, I felt so guilty. I cried that very night but I asked Him, "God forgive me. Help me change." and He did. I didnt ever make the same mistake again.

Somewhere down that road, I forgot Him. I thought life wasn't worth living, I even thought I meant nothing in this world. Somehow, I overcame these thoughts. I believed He watched over me because He sees me even when I don't see Him.

I stumbled but I continued walking. This path isn't easy. Years later I took an even harder path, this path I chose to follow Him. True enough, setbacks came. I cried almost every night at that time, I cried because I felt so helpless and lonely. But He comforted me, He told me not to be afraid, he told me I wasn't the least lonely. Even when all men fail, He will be there for me.

He gave me a new path when I thought all was gone. What can I say. 20 years of my life and this is the first time I've watched DOI. Haha... see I'm not those lucky kids whom parents will spend money to go watch such shows. Well, it was nice!!! My favourtite segment was Mulan, coz the skater was cool and it was most entertaining as a whole. For Nemo and the Lion King, it's kina weird coz the characters were skating around in weird looking costumes that are quite ugly, especially Simba. Simba looks hideous. I think I'll cry if I saw him 15 years ago. Haha. Some toddlers cried coz they were too scared at one point or another.. perhaps the sound effects scared them.

I concluded the kids love The Incredibles the most. And Toy Story. Cinderella, Snow White, and Aladdin are totally not their era.. but I love them! Reminds me of the days when I will pop over to my neighbour's house and watch all the Disney cartoons. That's like 15 years ago. wow.

I guess no matter when, Disney does have a place in all of our hearts.

I just saw something that didnt appeal to my aesthetics. (THINGS)

ok end of my grumbling. gonna be real busy this week with school, atc, omc, zion convention and work. I wonder how I'm gonna meet the deadlines for my 204 and 214 projects/essays. I wonder when I can start studying for my exams. I wonder how things will turn out after I survived this week, otherwise termed as 'Hell Week'. Guess this kinda week happens every sem. Last sem was 3 essay deadlines plus studying for tests/quizes in a week.

Brings me back to the point of - WHO SAYS UNI MORE SLACK??? ahahahaha.. but am getting used to it now. it's ok coz He's with me! In the process got burnt but made new friends and had a good time under the sun :) Very tiring to kayak especially when the wind is strong but it's much easier than sailing... at least for the capsizing part for now.. I used to have a phobia of capsizing since like 9 yrs ago when I fell into the sea while sailing and at that point just a few moments ago I saw a jellyfish lurking near by!!! Luckily coach came to my rescue! haha..

End of recess week.. lots of stuff to do.. Hall orientation, ATC and school work is enough to kill me.. and this sem I've got a heavier workload. Well, sometimes I also wonder when I dont have all these things to do life becomes bored and I will just slack my time away. So I concluded that it's a teeny weeny bit better to be busy and definitely much better to be seeking God! :) I always imagine how amazing it is when God first spoke the world into being, "Let there be light" and there was light!

"And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living thing." This wins hands down in the depression meter- 1 litre of Tears. Well, it really made me cry one litre of tears, almost wiping out my entire tissue box. I'm loving Jap dramas now... get to learn and practise some Jap listening as well (LOL). Jap fever is back! ( Shoo the Korean wind...)

Anyway, I saw on MTV this guy called K who sings this Jap song called Over or something. Really caught my attention coz it seriously sounds good and he's not bad looking. Went on the increasingly-becoming-my-fave site otherwise known as www.youtube.com and searched for his video.... and to my surprise surprise.... HE SANG THE THEME SONG OF 1 LITRE OF TEARS. Wahhhh.. and he's KOREAN. Wow, like gonna burn a whole in my pocket if I decide to get BOTH his korean and jap albums. HMMM..

Like after making a seriously stupid blunder on my last Jap test.. I'm not gonna make the same mistake twice! I realised I haven been talking much to my family members... and sometimes I dunno what to say. Well, I guess when parents get older, they actually long more for the concern of their kids. Like me, my mum was telling me about her body checkup and that her friend got lst stage breast cancer. She's quite upset over this, and I guess she's worried about herself. Somehow my concern for her cant seem to be put into words, so I kept quiet and answered her occassionally. It's not the first time she mentioned this to me. I'm worried about her too...

Well, actually I feel like moving back home these days. Now my real home seems foreign to me somehow.. that I actually spend so little time in it, it doesnt feel right. I miss the times I get to eat dinner at home, or even cooking dinner for my family myself. These days when I get home, I have no dinner or I have to eat take-aways my dad buys after work. My mum will be working and more than often my sis will be out. Then, my dad's quite lonely also. Sigh. I wish NTU can move to Pasir Ris!

Still thinking if I wanna stay in hall next sem. Advantages and disadvantages so far seem to be on par. I guess I dont wanna be tied down by hall activities anymore.. waste of time and input equate to less than desired output. This makes me very sian and tired. And the activities zap me mentally and physically such that I have lesser time for school work. This is very bad coz to me school work should be piority.

This year I really saw how God worked in each and everyone of our lives. People who may seem distant actually accepted God into their lives and of course I'm praying for more. I realised each and everyone of us is so different that I marvel at the fact that we actually live together in the same place, same time. Why not 100 years earlier? Why not 100 years later? God put us to be so, God gave us a purpose in life and we are not to waste it. Nobody is here by chance.

The world is so corrupted. Even things which seem mundane are actually the work of men and through the years we begun to accept things like they really are. What's real? Does wearing that Nike shoe make you of equal status as those athletes? Does crying and attempting suicide prove your love for your lover? Does drinking and swinging your heads to those techo, rnb, retro music enrich any part of your bodies? or your mind? type='text'>

never too late to watch a good film! caught the Schindler's List last weekend and I loved it. cried several times during the film, and it convinced me that one man can really make a difference. so far watched 3 films concerning the second world war and Hilter and the Holocaust. there's Downfall, a German film depicting the downfall (as so the title says) of Hilter. it kinda presented Hitler in a different light, more humane and very very capable as a leader. there's also The Rise Of Evil, showing Hilter's rise to power. this kinda showed Hitler to be the mad cult leader, how a man, an opportunist, can make full good use of an absolute desperate situation to his atmost advantage. then there's Schindler's List, which portrayed the brutality of war, of genocide. how can a man(Hitler)'s hatred cause the deaths of 6 million Jews? well, it did.

suddenly it dawned upon me that the history testbooks we have are simply too basic. no description of the Holocaust in detail, not much mention of the masscare of Nanking, and there's so much more simply forgotten. and to add on to the fact that what we learn in History simply requires us to regegitate, no room for thinking or analyzing. we need to show the young how insane and inhumane men can really get, how this world came so far to what it is now (though it may not be much better...).

so much for history :P
<img width='1' height='1' escalators, a seen-but-unnoticed sight in shopping centres in Singapore is repeatedly enacted by different couples. As if overcome by the exhaustion of shopping, she (the female partner) appears no longer to be able to hold up her own body and stand on her own. She leans back on to him (her male partner) and he supports her body with his, props her up, eliminating all physical distance between them; bodies pasted together until the landing at the top or bottom of the escalators. Again as if in graditude, she may even give him a pecking-kiss."

It made me nod my head unknowingly until, well, perhaps my roomie may turn around and see that her roomie has somehow gone retarded. HAHA. In uni, you see people of different race, culture, language, heritage, country. In uni, you meet weird people, and I mean really weird people. Didn't manage to see her off at the airport on Sunday coz of work. I guess I'd burst out crying if I'd been there. I'm not exactly someone who remains calm in scenerios like this. I've never been able to master the art of curbing an urge to cry. I'd just cry silently.

I remember Meiqi was my first ever official sitting partner in class way back in Sec 1. I remember we used to poke fun at Mrs Khoo our math teacher who was crazy about teletubies. I remember we both almost flunk our first math test (our scores were 1 mark different).

Think I'll miss her... and I pray she's good in that foreign place, meeting nice people and having a great time!

Ever thought of the happy times and wished you were back there again? So.. -poof- wedding bells ring... agree?

The greatest gift ever is love.
Love suffers long and is kind; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;
does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;
does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
1 Corinthians 13

the term break is here!! but there's so much more work to be done.
neverending...

ODAC peeps going desaru cycling and various trekking trips... wont be joining them though. hope they have lots of fun!! I need lots of short-term memory now to last me for tmr's test. 6 weeks passed just like that. I m actually entering mid-term. -shivers-

The modules I m taking:
* Introduction to Communication Studies
* Introduction to the Study of Literature
* Social Problems in a Global Context
* S'pore society in transition
* Person and Society

The last 3 modules are Sociology modules. That's basically what Sociology is about. Lectures are fun coz there's lots of interaction between lecturer and us and we get to watch interesting videos. Tutorials are all discussion based; mostly group work or debate sessions plus presentations. Basically we are to THINK and THINK and THINK. Also to READ and READ and READ. Assignments are not heavy YET unlike the biz and accountancy students (always rushing to finish tutorials).

I like what I m doing, though people always give me the look when I tell them the course I m in.
